Make sure child benefit changes don’t affect your state pension

This Is Money site.

This is an old article  (and a great one at that)   -but as of June 2nd 2015 we’re concerned that some people are being told that they’ve lost entitlement to pension credits despite having a child under 12 at home,   because of having lost entitlement to child benefit.      This article made it clear that HMRC told them this would not happen and that a mother’s pension entitlement would not be affected by loss of child benefit – that these years (with a child under 12) would still count as qualifying years.     We know need reassurance (again) from HMRC that this is still the case.   Perhaps This is Money can help us uncover the truth and reassure mothers working hard taking care of their children.
