Childcare policies failing says Family and Childcare Trust

Guardian article 27th January 2016

We agree that 30 hours of childcare funding is unrealistic and unworkable.

However what we would like to see is more support for families on low incomes in fairer family taxation and social security protection,  valuing the work of caregivers at home, instead of chivvying all mothers and fathers back into paid employment with children into childcare long before they are ready.    We’d also like to see more investment in local community services and parent and toddler facilities.   Separating mother and toddler is not the whole answer!
