Mothers at Home Matter is run by a core group of volunteers who passionately believe in MAHM and fit in their campaigning activities around family life, voluntary work and sometimes part time jobs depending on their children’s ages and particular needs.  As a campaigning organisation MAHM has no political affiliations and represents a diverse group of mothers and fathers across the UK with a broad range of views, all bringing different perspectives to the mix.   The committee is supported by Patrons, Advisors and a number of valued  Friends of MAHM.

We are very grateful to all those who give their time and expertise to support our campaign.

Anne Fennell

Anne joined MAHM 4 years ago and is passionate that the role of ‘care’ at home is valued. She is keen to see a more just tax system that recognises the family and the role of care, allowing families more of a choice as to how they raise their children.

Pat joined Full Time Mothers, as it was then, in 1993 and became Treasurer in 1997. She studied Maths at university and is a Chartered Accountant with experience of working in the Head Office of a major multinational in London.

Sine Pickles

Membership Secretary

‘I joined Mothers at Home Matter later in life than many – it was around the year 2000 when our 2 sons had already left home.

I remember hearing a news bulletin about expanding nurseries for young children and wondered why no one was considering that home might be best. I trained as a primary school teacher but always wanted to have children and be at home with them.

Claire Paye

Editor MAHM Newsletter for members and Media Contact

Claire has been active on various community groups since being at home full time, including being Chair of the local NCT, Chair of the PTA and popping up regularly on the airwaves to point out the flaws in the Government’s latest ‘family friendly’ policy, usually designed to get both parents into work and penalise families with a parent at home.

Marie Lewis

I first became a member of MAHM in 1998 and was elected Chair fourteen years later at the 2012 AGM in London.

Kerry Hedley

I first discovered Mothers at Home Matter through Facebook when my daughter was a baby. Most of the other mothers I knew had gone back to work & I was starting to feel isolated as a stay at home mum. I was delighted to find MAHM but shocked that it currently seems to be the only organisation in the UK campaigning for & supporting families with a stay at home parent. I became a member in 2012 & joined the committee in 2014.

Alex McVicar

Lynne Geary

I’m a mum of two fantastic boys, and a designer/ illustrator based in Surrey.

Before, the birth of my two sons I was a qualified accountant working within Local Government. However, shortly after giving birth to my youngest I decided the time was right to quit the rat race and get back to a more creative lifestyle. One that would allow me to spend more time with the boys while they were growing up.
