How You Can Help

If the aims of Mothers at Home Matter resonate with you, there are various ways you can support our organisation.

We fully appreciate that in today’s economy, money is tight for most families but you can support Mothers at Home Matter in other very important ways.

Write to Your Local MP

We have recieved some anecdotal feedback that many MPs prefer to receive a hard copy letter as it really grabs their attention and is much more likely to get a response than an email.

Please take the time to write to your local MP to tell them your own personal story and why supporting parents at home with their children is such an important issue for you.

You can find contact details for your local MP here:

You can also access a standard letter we have put together in response to the current childcare vouchers consultation.  We can’t stress how important it is for you to adapt this letter to your own circumstances.  MPs are more likely to respond when faced with real life stories rather than standard letters.

Write to Local/National Newspapers

For some inspiration, take a look at some recent articles our members have had published in the press.

Raise Awareness of MAHM in Your Local Community

Whether you attend toddler groups, drop offs at pre-school or do the school run every day, you will constantly come into contact with our other parents.  Please do tell them about Mothers at Home Matter and encourage them to find out more.

Make a Financial Donation

No matter how big or small, any financial donation that you can make to Mothers at Home Matter will make a big difference to us.

MAHM is run by a team of volunteers, we try and keep our overheads to an absolute minimum but there are inevitably some costs involved in running an organisation such as ours.

As our reputation has grown over the past 12 months we are increasingly invited to relevant events at Parliament which is  fantastic way of raising our exposure but does require a small outlay to participate (e.g. travel costs, telephone calls).

You can donate using the ‘Donate Now’ button on the top right hand side of this page.

Any financial donation you can make to support our work would be really appreciated and put to very good use.  We hold our Annual Open Meeting in London every year and usually invite two speakers  – and we also produce two newsletters a year for members to support mothers and to influence policymakers.    We sit on a number of All Party Parliamentary Groups and we are also invited to travel to radio studios around the country – but inevitably this means that our volunteers incur costs so any help is appreciated.
